BOV RV Modifications I

Our new vehicle is a bug on a Dolphin Motor Home, which has about 116,000 miles on it and still works fine. It takes a lot to kill the old Toyota 22R engine. We bought our Dolphin for use as a BOV in early 2010. This is a model 400, which puts the sofa seat behind the driver and the bathroom in the back. Like any other person who owns a camper, we are proud of the changes we have planned for our Dolphin BOV. All changes listed here are intended for our private and will not be held responsible for someone else with these changes.

One of the first changes will be provided to replace the standard rear-view mirror with one from JC Whitney's Day Night Mirror (Model 18410G). This device costs only $ 17.99, but replaces the current windshield mounted mirror easily. It 'available in three widths and is about 2 inches high. Comes with a black body complimented with less distortion glass. It has an adjustable stem. All you have to do is throw a switch to change the view during the intuition of a normal day in dazzling night time guests. The unit is mounted on the original media or you can use the mounting bracket. Detailed instructions are included.

We all want to be able to safely store our camper so that the second amendment will be to install an alarm backup lamps (model 1JA 141,147). This particular unit mounts under the rear of the camper at a cost of only $ 17.99. This is a low-cost, reliable back-up alarm that will help prevent injury to others during the rescue of the motor home. The unit mounts easily on the back or bottom edge of the plate can be mounted anywhere on the back of your RV. Is in a durable ABS plastic, which is about 9 ½ inches wide by 7.8 inches high by 15/16 inches in diameter. The device emits a sound of 100 dB and dual LED flash automatically when you move the vehicle in reverse. Detailed instructions are included with the kit. Since the RV is still used as a BOV, a switch will be installed so the unit can be deactivated when the fact is that these actions.

It was suggested that you install about six volts batteries golf cart instead of using the 12 volt unit which is currently in the motorhome. Unfortunately, when we bought the camper, we immediately replaced the battery so that offers mod can wait a year or two.

If our homes is not already installed a solar panel should change this list if necessary. Be sure to install a regulator with the group as well, or you can reduce battery life. The solar panel will let you keep the battery when you parked your installation. If I had to first install a system in our RV I would choose the highest rated panels that I could afford. Be sure to install a number of points to 12 volt fuse in line to complete the installation. I use these 12-volt outlets to power my direct phone chargers, laptops and other small exhaust as my 12 volt coffee pot.

Once the weather warms up I'm going to have more control over the vehicle roof to ensure it is in good condition. I'm going to completely seal with some type of mold-resistant coating such as Henry Solaflex 287.

The six aircraft tires are still usable, but I'm going to start saving now to buy new Yokohama 356 - 185R14-8ply.

During our travels around the country, we continue to use our mobile phones because it only costs us $ 59.00 for unlimited airtime. For our use of the Internet, using a wireless modem from Verizon at a rate of $ 60.00 per month for 50GB of bandwidth. Since our laptops and netbooks are willing to Internet, using Wi-Fi when you can.

Our GPS system is a unit of Tom-Tom. To be honest, I do not know how I survived without it. It makes travel easy and hassle free. It took me a bit 'to get to the point where I trusted instructions Tom-Tom, but now this problem is a thing of the past.

We all use batteries for everything from handheld devices for MP-3 players and the best thing you can possibly get a solar battery charger. DepotEco.com sells SBC (NiMH) battery charger ($ 19.95) that uses the sun's energy to recharge the batteries if they are never without power. The high solar charger will charge two rechargeable batteries at a time, subject to the same type of battery. It charges AA, AAA, C, D cells and the like. The charger output is about 150 mAh to 5 volts. The unit comes with its own variety and as a result of solar load. Simply slide the two batteries in cargo and location of the PV, while the voltage meter pegs in the red zone and you're on track to batteries charged again. If the batteries are completely dead indicator lets you know when they are fully charged. My goal is to disassemble the unit and place the panel on the charger for the side panels of the vehicle roof solar battery coach.

One of our plans for the future is to replace the kitchen faucet and install a gooseneck type used in a normal house can be an "American Standard" Model 6424F purchased from Home Depot. These units run $ 64.00, but are ideal for cleaning coffee pots and kitchen utensils clean. In collaboration with the new faucet will install some kind of water filter. At this moment we do not know exactly what we will use filters or if you choose a complete filter or just a sink installed local unit.

Our music is composed only of the radio before the car BOV and end up with a stereo of some sort on the back of the RV to use while at the same campsite. An alternative is to install a car radio with MP3 capability and connect the second battery. The MP3 player is very convenient that I can also play "Old Time Radio" program presented earlier on the site.
